The beginning

A place for those who take sound seriously.

Sound City Amsterdam is a family business — founded and run by father and son. A collaboration with short lines, personal attention and the will to do everything well ourselves.

When we received multiple requests for professional music studios in a short time, we noticed there was a great need for high-quality and inspiring production spaces. That moment marked the beginning of Sound City Amsterdam.

The strong demand gave us the confidence to develop 12 studios right away. Even before delivery, all studios were fully booked.

Building further

Knowledge we brought into practice.

Over the years we've tested various building methods and worked intensively with specialists who have more than 30 years of experience in acoustics and studio building. This gave us deep knowledge of which techniques work best for creating truly silent and high-end spaces.

We didn't want to keep that knowledge theoretical — we wanted to apply and refine it in practice. That's why we realised five new studios in the building next to our first location, fully built with all the experience and insights we've gained over the years.

Our passion

Our knowledge, at your location.

During these projects, our passion for studio building truly emerged. Since then we've been continuously developing new ideas and possibilities to realise even more high-end music studios.

Because developing our own locations takes considerable time, we decided to apply our knowledge and experience at clients' locations too. By now we've worked on many diverse and beautiful projects — from professional music studios to complete custom acoustic solutions.

Today

Seventeen characters,
one community.

Today Sound City Amsterdam consists of seventeen studios spread across two locations — from intimate songwriting rooms to full Dolby Atmos mixing suites. It's a community of permanent renters and visiting artists, with 24/7 access and an infrastructure that runs alongside how music is made today.
